No rest for Buckle during transfer window

Town boss Paul Buckle won’t have time for a moments rest during the January transfer window as he looks to move on potential targets, writes Mike Simmonds.

The Luton chief has already signed Scott Neilson and Jonathan Smith, while Andre Boucaud completed his move to League One Notts County and Dean Beckwith was released.

Hatters missed out on Christian Jolley as he joined Newport County as Buckle said: “It’s a tough time at the moment, it’s tough to get a minute to think.

“I wanted to give this (FA Trophy) game the respect it deserves, my sole focus has been on knocking these (Skelmersdale) out.

“They were no pushovers, so I won’t have Sunday off and will look at where we need to improve and who’s available.

“We certainly have got some irons in the fire, whether they come off or it’s right to do now, is something that I’ll think about.”
