No fresh concerns for Brabin as he expects Romans to park the cart at Kenilworth Road

ROCK-BOTTOM Bath City are likely to come to Kenilworth Road tomorrow and park the bus in front of goal, writes Mark Wood.

That is the expectation of Hatters boss Gary Brabin, who has no new injury worries but no players back ahead of tomorrow’s game.

But he doesn’t believe that victory will be as straightforward as many might think.

He said: “When you look at the so-called bottom sides people always expect you to go there and win convincingly.

“You’ve got 11 human beings against 11 human beings and it’s not always as easy as that.

“We certainly won’t be going there taking it light, expecting just to turn up there and win. That’s a no go because that’s when you get disappointed.

“I think they are one of the sides that try and play football the right way.

“They are down there and they’ll come here with nothing to lose if you like.

“They’ve got some decent players who have played at a decent level and I’m sure they’ll be coming here and giving their all as everyone does.

“But like I keep saying we’ve got a style we want to play and the lads are getting better and better at that.

“If we can keep performing the way we know we can we are more than confident going into every game that we are more than good enough to get three points.

“We’ve got good options and will have a little look. I’m certainly not going to do things for the sake of it.

“I’ll be picking the side I think is good enough to win the game tomorrow and games are certainly going to be coming thick and fast and I think it’s important we’ve got a good group of players who are all pushing for their places.

“The games come thick and fast and I think we are going to need that.”

Town go into the match on the back of a fine 2-0 home win over Gateshead in the FA Trophy and Brabin believes the Hatters are finding some form.

He continued: “We just want to keep concentrating on our performance. We’ve got a way in which we want to play, which we do feel we are making strides with and are a lot more happy with our performances.

“And I think that gets backed up with results, and results have been better of late except for the last one away at Barrow.

“We are delighted with that, that’s always been the issue and we are going to concentrate on ourselves. We are just going to keep winning football matches, it’s out of our control what other teams do.”

And he also feels all of his squad players are giving him options for the run-in.

Brabin added: “That’s something I’ve tried to emphasise since the start of the season that we’ve got a big strong competitive group.

“There’s no definite, everyone’s position is up for grabs and they’ve got to perform to the best of their ability.

“I’m lucky enough that I’ve got a good group of lads here who have a lot of ability and it’s up to us as a staff to help guide them to perform to the best of their ability.

“And a little bit of healthy competition too will help stand us in good stead.”
