NI boss Robinson eyes Hatters post in the future

Northern Ireland U21 boss and former Hatters star Steve Robinson admitted he would one-day love to put himself in the Kenilworth Road hotseat, writes Mark Wood.

The Luton Town stalwart, who scored 12 goals in 211 appearances over six seasons at Kenilworth Road, has made big impression on the international stage with the Ulstermen.

Robinson was signed from Preston North End for £50,000 in June 2002 and also won seven caps for his country, was speaking after helping the Luton Town Legends to an 8-1 victory over Aston Villa Old Stars at Kenilworth Road on Sunday

The 37-year-old stopped playing four years ago after a back injury forced him to retire, but he is now making full use of his coaching qualifications as he is in charge of the Northern Ireland U21s, U19s and U17s.
