Neilson urges Town to forget their previous York history

ASSISTANT boss Alan Neilson doesn’t think that the past encounters between Hatters and York City this season will count for a jot when they step out on to the Wembley turf on Sunday, writes Mike Simmonds.

Luton and the Minstermen have already met each other four times, with York winning three and the other a draw.

Town have only scored twice as opposed to City’s seven goals, but Neilson believes there is a wind of change around Kenilworth Road these days.

He said: “It’s a game, a one-off game. People said about Wrexham, about us not beating the teams in the top six.

“Since the new manager has come in we’ve done that. Kidderminster we beat, Wrexham. Yes we lost the second leg, but we’ve got through in the tie.”
