Neilson may still make himself a candidate for Hatters top job

ASSISTANT manager Alan Neilson hasn’t ruled out applying for the vacant Luton Town job, writes Mike Simmonds.

The caretaker boss hasn’t officially thrown his hat into the ring yet, as he had been busy preparing the side for last night’s trip to Gateshead that was postponed late in the day.

Neilson admitted he might be tempted by the position though as he said: “I have not applied for it, but I wouldn’t rule it out.

“I just want to get Luton Town back in the Football League, if it’s manager, assistant manager, first team coach, if it’s groundsman, whatever.”
