Midweek stats a mere coincidence for Hatters

Tuesday night’s 3-0 defeat against Forest Green Rovers means Town have now won just three out of 18 night games this season. Fleetwood said: “I think it’s just coincidence. A lot gets made about stats, but I don’t think about them.

“It’s disappointing because we’ve had a lot of midweek games and we’d have preferred to get a lot more points.”

Town were well beaten at the New Lawn on Tuesday and Fleetwood felt it was down to their ‘schoolboy’ defending.

He added: “We didn’t really create any clear-cut chances and the goals they scored were very schoolboy from our point of view.

“Scoring from our corner is unacceptable as we didn’t defend properly and gave them too many chances.

“We know what we’ve done wrong and what we need to do to fix it.”
