McNulty sets his sights on promotion with Luton

Defender Steve McNulty wants to win promotion with Luton Town after penning a new two-year deal at Kenilworth Road last week, writes Mark Wood.

The former Fleetwood centre-half said: “I’ve signed for a reason and the reason is to get Luton back in the Football League and hopefully I can do it in the next two years.

“I’m not one to walk away after the three months and just because it didn’t happen I am there for a reason.

“That’s an ambition to play in the Football League at Luton Town.”

Despite being signed by former Town boss Paul Buckle, new manager John Still was a major part of McNulty’s decision to stay.

He added: “He is going to have his own ideas and bring his own players in. Hopefully it will be a different story this season.

“He has been successful in his managerial career and I have no reason why he won’t be at Luton Town.

“He has just got an aura about him. Everything he says it’s black and white and there’s no grey areas about him.”
