McNulty blames himself as Hatters gift Bluebirds victory

New signing Steve McNulty partly blamed himself for Barrow’s winner as the Hatters lost 1-0 to Barrow on his debut, writes Mark Wood.

The 29-year-old felt he hesitated as Greg Taylor misdirected header gifted Adam Boyes what turned out to be the winner after just five minutes. He said: “It was a bit of a mix up between myself and the goalie for the first goal.

“It’s our first game I thought he was coming and if I’d carried on running I could have cleared it myself, but that was a mix up. All in all a few things didn’t go for me first half, but second half we played well they were sitting in and I thought we were unlucky not to get the draw.”
