The 18-year-old signed for a month from the Canaries this morning and knows he may have to wait for his chance, with Town currently 19 games unbeaten in the Skrill Premier.

McGeehan said: “They’re winning a lot of games, so if I can help in the push (for promotion) as well that would be great.

“Seeing the quality out there in training is really good and I’m looking forward to getting some games.

“I know I might not get in the team straight away, so I’ll have to be patient and bide my time, but if the team’s winning then that’s all that matters really.

“I’m hoping to break in though as soon as I can, as I want to impress the gaffer and the fans and do well when I get my chance.”

McGeehan started his career at Fulham, before being signed as a 10-year-old by Chelsea for a fee of around £80,000.

He left Chelsea at 16 for Carrow Road, where he captained Norwich to FA Youth Cup glory last season though, but his spell at Town will potenially be his first taste of first team football.

The Northern Ireland U21 international continued: “Luton is my first loan, but I’ve been playing in the reserves at Norwich and training with the first team quite a lot as they’ve got quite a small squad.

“So that’s going to help me as well, but I really want to impress and do as well as I can for Luton.”

Speaking about the teenager’s move to Kenilworth Road, Canaries academy manager Ricky Martin added: “It’s a great opportunity for Cameron to experience senior football for a month.

“He’s also going joining up with a successful squad who are currently top of the league, which is very rare and will without doubt help his development a lot.”
