Martin urged to fight for his Town place

Hatters first team coach Hakan Hayrettin has urged winger David Martin to fight for his place at Kenilworth Road, writes Mike Simmonds.

The wideman, who has spent time on loan at Dartford this season, set up two for Hatters in a 3-2 development win over Gillingham last week.

Hayrettin said: “We know that he’s got that quality, he’s just got to produce it.

“Unfortunately for him, in that position players are playing well as Jake Howells has been excellent.

“He’s gone out loan, done well, and has got to knuckle down now.”
