Magpies confirm Kinnear appointment

Newcastle United have confirmed the appointment of former Town boss Joe Kinnear as director of football on a three-year deal.

The Magpies made their announcement after the former Toon manager revealed on Sunday he would be taking up the role.

Kinnear, 66, who was at Kenilworth Road between February 2001 and May 2003, will report to the club’s board as the senior executive in charge of all football-related matters at the St James’ Park outfit.
