Lawless urges Hatters to go on FA Cup run

Man of the moment Alex Lawless has urged Hatters to give the FA Cup their utmost attention when they travel to Cambridge United in the fourth round qualifying this afternoon, writes Mike Simmonds.

The game has been moved to a 1pm kick-off on police advice and Lawless wants his side to continue a run of form that has seen them win four from their last five matches to lay down a marker.

He said: “All the top teams and those who end up winning stuff, every game they treat the same.

“It’s important for everyone to keep their fitness up and after winning we want to go and win another one.”

Cambridge are also now managed by former Town boss Richard Money, who brought Lawless to Kenilworth Road from York City in November 2010.

Lawless added: “I’m thankful for him signing me here, but I’m going there to beat him and I’m sure he can understand that.”
