Boss Paul Buckle said: “His versatility has been invaluable this season.
“Alex is someone that you don’t have to tell him twice, he’s very disciplined for the team.
“Sometimes it goes un-noticed in a game but he’s now adding real quality to his hard work and his discipline and also popped up with a few goals.”
