Lawless and Shaw both keen to claim magnificent seventh

Substitutes Alex Lawless and Jon Shaw were both keen to claim Town’s seventh goal in Saturday’s route of sorry Hereford, writes Mark Wood.

Both players appeared to have a hand in forcing Matt Robinson’s saved 30-yard free-kick home, with Lawless officially being given it on the day.

And he was certain he had got the goal, saying: “As far as I was aware I hit it in and got hit into the goal and kind of didn’t really know why what was really going on then…

Shaw had been certain at the time it was his goal and, while he believes his team-mate he admitted he was keen to see definitive evidence.

He said: “We’ve got an honest bunch of lads but there’s nobody more honest than Alex Lawless and he tells me that he hit it in and I kicked him.”
