Lacey hopeful to break into first team after signing new Luton deal

DEFENDER Alex Lacey is targeting to break into Town’s first team after being handed a new two-year-deal at the Hatters, writes Mark Wood.

The burgeoning 19-year-old centre-half is still growing and knows that it’s a real commitment from both sides.

He said: “I was delighted to sign. I’ve been really happy here for my first three years.

“They were pleased to have me and had faith in me to continue developing so they offered me more than a year to help with that development.

“Hopefully I will be around the team but it gives me two years to keep developing and that’s a lot of faith to have in me by the club. Hopefully if I can keep developing I will be in with a shout.”
