Lacey happy to revert to his preferred defensive duties

Hatters defender Alex Lacey welcomed a return to his centre back duties during the 2-0 defeat at Shrewsbury Town on Saturday.

The defender had been used as a holding midfielder in his previous two appearances this campaign, but felt his best position was in Town’s back-line.

He said: “It was pleasing to be on the pitch and especially at centre back.

“I’m just trying to get back in the team and first of all just to be on the pitch is the most important thing. But I’m a centre back, that’s where I play most of my time.

“I’m definitely willing to try new positions, but playing in centre midfield and the holding role is very welcome if I get the chance.”
