JJ wins plaudits from his team-mates

Up-and-coming midfielder JJ O’Donnell’s work ethic in Tuesday night’s victory at Kidderminster epitomised Town’s new-found resolve according to striker Stuart Fleetwood.

He said: “I just think we all know our own jobs a lot better.

“There’s no grey areas, we all work hard for each other.

“JJ O’Donnell epitomised that. He was fantastic and for a lad who started his league debut on Saturday, he’s come on leaps and bounds. He looks strong, I think he epitomised what we did.

“There were people throwing their bodies on the line. I think I even saw Scott Rendell getting dirty at some point making slide tackles. We know we’ve all got to dig in for the team.”

Fleetwood was doubly delighted after Luton’s failure to beat Gateshead on Saturday.

He added: “It was disappointing more than anything. The goals that we conceded were sloppy.

“If you play badly you get to the break 0-0, fair enough, but it wasn’t good enough. We were in on Monday and put that right, we trained really well, really hard. The manager saw that and I think we’ve turned it around.

“A bad 45 minutes out of two games isn’t terrible.”
