JJ impresses for Hampton

HATTERS: On-loan Hatter JJ O’Donnell impressed for new club Hampton & Richmond on Saturday as he played 90 minutes in their 3-3 home draw with Havant and Waterlooville in Blue Square Bet South.

Boss Mark Harper said: “He did exceptionally well, showing a very experienced head for a young man.

“I know Luton rate him very highly and see him as one for the future, so I am very pleased to have his quality at the club.”

Full-back Ashley Deeney also played the whole game as St Neots beat Sutton Coldfield Town 3-1 in the first round qualifying of the FA Trophy.

There was no place for striker Matthew Barnes-Homer though in Rochdale’s squad as they lost 3-1 at Exeter City in League One.

Godfrey Poku played the full 90 minutes and picked up a yellow card while Dan Walker was an unused sub as Southport were held to a 1-1 home draw by Tamworth in the Blues Square Bet Premier on Saturday.
