Intuitive Gray and Benson are now in sync

Intuitive Hatters striker Andre Gray is developing an intrinsic understanding with target man Paul Benson as his two goals against Welling United earned a 2-1 victory on Saturday, writes Mark Wood.

Veteran forward Benson was involved in both goals as the pair now have 16 between them so far this season.

Gray, who reached double figures during Town’s 3-0 win over Southport last night, said: “I always know what Paul’s going to do.

“I know when he’s going to flick it, when he’s going to hold it and we just seem to be in sync at the moment.

“We’re just working together, we’ve been doing it in training and it’s just a matter of taking it on to the pitch, which we have been.”

The 22-year-old is now clear at the top of the goalscoring charts for Town, but doesn’t want to set himself any targets after recently getting back into form.
