Injuries accelerated Martin’s loan move to Dartford

A knee injury to winger Ryan Hayes accelerated Dartford manager Tony Burman into signing Luton wide man David Martin on a month’s loan.

The 28-year-old has rejoined the Darts after leaving Princes Park in 2007, and Burman said: “We’ve been talking with John Still and Luton for a while now, for the last few weeks.

“There was a chance Dave could have been here last Friday, but he got injured against Welling (in the FA Cup on November 9) and it hadn’t cleared up.

“Ryan’s injury forced the issue as well. I’m pleased Dave has come in. He’s a player I know well and he’s someone who naturally gets down the left-hand side.”
