Howells says Hatters will ‘destroy’ Wrexham

TOWN will be looking to replicate the ruthlessness they showed against Gateshead at the weekend as they bid to ‘destroy’ table-toppers Wrexham on Tuesday night, writes Mark Wood.

Buoyed by the 5-1 hammering of the Tynesiders on Saturday star midfielder Jake Howells believes they can do the same to the Welshmen when they visit during the week.

Speaking after the Gateshead win, he said: “It’s brilliant. We knew we would have a couple of hard games, Gateshead and Wrexham.

“It’s good for us to go into Tuesday’s game confident. If we play like we did today we will destroy Wrexham.”
