Howells put the onus on the Hatters ahead of FA Cup tie

Determined Hatters full-back Jake Howells is anticipating another tough test when Luton head to Nuneaton Town in their FA Cup first round replay on Tuesday night, writes Mark Wood.

Boro have twice proved a tough nut to crack on their two visits to Kenilworth Road this season.

Town secured a 2-0 victory over them in the league thanks to two goals from Alex Lawless in the last five minutes, but Nuneaton did even better in the FA Cup as they secured a replay with dogged performance to hold the Hatters to a goalless draw.

Wales U21 international Howells said: “We know it’s going to be a hard game. They’ve given us hard games every time they’ve come here, but hopefully if we’re good enough on the day we’ll be able to break them down and get a few goals.”

And he’s hoping that victory can help to reignite Town’s title challenge.

Howells added: “It’s good to get on a good run, everyone wants a good run in the FA Cup and obviously we want to kick back out form and get back to winning games so it’s a big game.”
