Howells of delight as Jake’s so happy to be spot on

‘Over the moon’ Hatters midfielder Jake Howells was delighted to help repay boss John Still with a brace of well-taken penalties that spurred the Hatters on to a 2-0 victory at Kidderminster Harriers on Saturday, writes Mark Wood.

The 22-year-old admitted he was disappointed to have missed out on a hat-trick though having missed several other chances during the game.

Howells was back in the starting XI for the first time since the opening day 1-0 defeat at Southport following a fine string of performances from the bench.

He said: “I’m over the moon. Obviously I’ve only started one game, the first game of the season, I’ve been out of it and come on and that and I’ve been doing well and that gaffer’s gave me a chance today.”
