Henry makes first Aldershot start

Town boss Gary Brabin is hopeful that winger Charlie Henry’s first start for Aldershot Town at the weekend will see him stay in first team contention, writes Mike Simmonds.

The 24-year-old has been on loan at the Recreation Ground since November 24, but had only made three substitute appearances totalling 23 minutes up until Saturday.

Henry, pictured above, figured from the start at the weekend though as the Shots were beaten 3-0 at home by Oxford United in League Two, before being substituted after 74 minutes by Adam Smith.

Brabin said: “He needs games, he’s been out for a while and I’m delighted he’s started his first game.

“But he’s been there now for over a month and we’d have hoped he’d have played a lot more games.

“We’ll assess how he’s going and go from there.”
