Henry hurting over defensive frailties

Anyone who thought that the Luton players didn’t take Saturday’s shocking defeat to Alfreton to heart, need only have looked at captain Ronnie Henry to see otherwise, writes Mike Simmonds.

Speaking to the press in the aftermath, the skipper was visibly stunned by what had just occurred as Town went down with a whimper, losing 3-0 to a side who had failed to win at home, shipping nine goals at home in just three games.

Conceding as early as the second minute meant Town failed to keep a clean sheet yet again, something they haven’t done since the second game of the campaign.

Just mentioning the very fact brought another grimace to Henry’s face as it is clearly getting under the skin of a man who prides himself on his defensive duties.
