Henry hopes his rant at Town’s fans has already helped

Skipper Ronnie Henry thinks taking a stand against a negative section of Town’s supporters may well end up helping the club in the long run, writes Mike Simmonds.

The Hatters captain was critical of a vocal minority during the 3-2 win over Lincoln recently, but felt the crowd were back onside against FC Halifax Town on Saturday, despite Luton trailing 3-1 at one stage.

He said: “Maybe saying something has got us that win (against Halifax).

“I could have just left it and left it, and maybe we wouldn’t have got out of this league.

“I’ve only said it because I think it was worth saying and for the sake of the club.

“I want to leave this club in a better place than when I came and that’s League Two, League One, that’s how far this club can go.”
