Henry gets Shot in the arm

FORMER boss Dean Holdsworth has swooped to sign ex-charge Charlie Henry on loan for League Two Aldershot.

The 24-year-old made his name under Holdsworth at Newport, before being signed by the Hatters last year.

Henry was sidelined for a year by a freak injury that saw a ligament detach in his foot and made his belated debut for the Hatters in last month’s FA Cup fourth qualifying round victory over Hendon.

The recovering winger has joined the Shots until January 22, and Town chief Gary Brabin said: “This is a great opportunity for Charlie to get some game time under his belt and what better surroundings than at Football League level.

“Obviously Charlie knows Dean well which is a major bonus and hopefully he can come back bere in January fit and raring to go.

“We’ve seen glimpses of what Charlie’s capable of in training, and he’s had the odd reserve game but this is fantastic for him. Aldershot’s a super club and we know he’s in good hands.”

The Shots travel to face Swindon Town this Saturday.
