Heed rush was a sense of ‘deja vu’ for delighted Davis

There was a sense of ‘deja vu’ for young Hatters centre-half Joe Davis as the Town produced another scintillating first half performance as they eased to a 4-2 victory over in-form Gateshead at Kenilworth Road on Saturday, writes Mark Wood.

Town netted three times without reply and also had another disallowed in the first half and added a fourth early in the second, before Heed finally responded with two late goal.

It was a similar scenario to their recent 5-0 win at Alfreton where Luton surged into a quickfire 4-0 first half lead.

He said: “I think we started out pretty much the same. It was a bit of deja vu to be fair.

“The gaffer he puts in our head before the game that it’s important we go out there and attack right from the start.

“We came out of the traps fast and I don’t think they could live with us to be fair.

“It’s nice to watch, it’s nice to see the link-up play, it’s good and hopefully it can continue and I’m sure if it does we will carry on the way we are.”
