Speaking at Monday’s press conference boss John Still said: “Garry Richards, Danny Spiller, both had ops. Scott Neilson has just had an op. Those three players we’re not going to see this season.

“Not that we saw two of them this season anyway so we haven’t lost anything there have we!

“Scott I haven’t had an opportunity to see, although I know him as a player.”

But Fleetwood’s surgery looks like it’s been put on hold until the end of the season, with Still adding: “He needs to have a hernia operation but my understanding, and the one thing I could catch up with when I got in this morning, was that he could probably play between now and the end of the season and have it done at the end of the season.

“Having said that I would probably only use him if I have to because I don’t want to put him under unnecessary stress.”
