The 24-year-forward is currently on trial with the Hatters after scoring twice and proving to be a real menace in AFC’s recent 7-5 defeat to Luton in the Bedfordshire Senior Cup at Creasey Park.

Christie has scored 151 goals in four seasons with the Molten Spartan SML Premier Division club and also scored a hat-trick in a recent in-house game for Luton Town’s development squad against the Nike Academy.

Christie, from Luton, who is a team leader and business development executive at Crannull Consulting, is now hoping the chance could lead to a full-time career in football.

He said: “All I can do is work hard because opportunities are hard to come by, and make sure when the time comes I do my best and I take it.

“I hope something can progress with Luton, but nothing has been achieved yet, it’s just the beginning.

“It’s pivotal that I get my head down and carry on improving.”
