Hatters to sign title-winning defender

Town’s chief, who spoke exclusively to the News/Gazette from Portugal where he is currently on holiday, is confident of tying up a deal for the centre-half, who would be his seventh signing of the summer.

He said: “We’re going to conclude a signing this week, a defender.

“I know we will, it will probably be Wednesday.”

Meanwhile, the boss confirmed that wouldn’t be the end of his summer shopping as he is hoping to bring in another experienced defender before pre-season training starts on July 1.
