Hatters rated v Northampton

Kevin Pilkington: 7.5 – Has hardly played, but looked incredibly sharp and produced two great saves to see the Hatters through.

Keith Keane: 5.5 – Solid enough, but was evidently hampered by the injury that forced him off before the break.

George Pilkington: 6 – Forced to earn his pay by a lively Cobblers forward line, but stuck with his task all afternoon.

Alex Lawless: 6 – Started slowly but grew into the game and will be great to finally see him over his broken hand.

Amari Morgan-Smith: 7 – Strong and powerful and Town’s main threat until injury forced him off.

Aaron O’Connor: 7 – Pacey, athletic and industrious, but needs to produce more end product.

Jake Howells: 6.5 – Class act wherever he slots in and his overlapping runs can often be the difference.

Curtis Osano: 6 – Largely sound but a few touches lacked conviction and put Town in trouble.

John Paul Kissock: 6 – Was full of tricks and enthusiasm but for once they didn’t really come off.

Jamie Hand: 6 – Some simple passes kept things ticking nicely, but silly foul saw him enter the referee’s notebook which curtailed his influence.

Janos Kovacs: 6.5 – Won most of the aerial tussles at the back, including several crucial defensive headers.

Robbie Willmott (sub): 6 – Made a nuisance of himself from the off and looked much more like the player he should be.

Danny Crow (sub): 6 – Full of running and gave his all, but struggled to really make his mark.

Adam Watkins (sub): 7 – The sweetest of strikes sent the Hatters into the next round.
