Hatters rated v Newport County

Kevin Pilkington: 6.5 – Only really ever troubled by Buchanan’s effort as the Luton stopper kept a third straight clean sheet.

Dan Gleeson: 6.5 – Given a rough ride and on the end of more than one bad challenge, but Town look far more solid with him in their side.

Greg Taylor: 7 – His inclusion has given the Hatters a real shot in the arm and his inclination to overlap is a big plus going forward.

Keith Keane: 7.5 – Pressed well in the midfield and his ability to fill in at the back is a real boon.

George Pilkington: 7 – Worryingly forced off with a knock, but always prepared to put his body on the line for the side.

Alex Lawless: 6.5 – Kept things ticking and is a real danger coming from deep.

Danny Crow: 6.5 – Largely isolated but showed great bravery to net at the far post.

Aaron O’Connor: 7 – Always full of running and a deft touch set Town on their way.

Jake Howells: 7.5 – All over the pitch and hungry for the ball at every opportunity.

Adam Watkins: 6 – Had an off day and wasn’t involved as much as he would have liked.

James Dance (sub): 6.5 – Not a natural full-back, but against 10 men was effective getting forward.

Stuart Fleetwood (sub): 6 – A couple of flashes of inspiration, but lacked the finishing touches.

Robbie Willmott (sub): 5.5 – Not given long enough to really make his mark.
