Hatters rated v Mansfield Town

Mark Tyler: 7 – No chance with the goals and his late reaction stop deserved more than to lead to Mansfield’s winner at the death.

Lathaniel Rowe-Turner: 5.5 – Harried early on, grew defensively, but offered nothing going forward.

Steve McNulty: 6 – Gave away the penalty, looked ungainly at times, but was effective for long periods.

Alex Lawless: 7.5 – Hatters’ most consistent performer in what has so far proved a massively disappointing league campaign.

Scott Rendell: 7 – Mixed afternoon for the tireless centre forward. Took his goal well, created Gray’s equaliser but handed the Stags their second.

David Martin: 5.5 – Worked hard as he closed down and chased hard and was perhaps unfortunated to be subbed off.

Scott Neilson: 5 – Swapped wings and then into the middle, but the former Grimsby wide man saw very little of the ball.

Wayne Thomas: 5.5 – Shook the cobwebs off as he made his long-awaited debut and communication at the back can only improve.

Jonathan Smith: 6.5 – Industrious midfielder covered plenty of yards and put his foot in, but lacked a creative edge.

Ronnie Henry: 6 – Stuck to his task well and overlapped when possible, but part of a Town defence that were almost bullied at times.

Andre Gray: 6.5 – Isolated early on, but looked dangerous when Luton got the ball forward, took his goal well and looked Town’s biggest threat.

Stuart Fleetwood (sub): 6 – Took his time to get going, but what he did he did well, and almost put Gray through for a second.

Jake Howells (sub): 5.5 – Has been out of sorts all season and sadly for him his clever bits of play just aren’t coming off.
