Hatters rated v Mansfield

Mark Tyler: 5.5 – No real chance with either goal, but punched too often when catching the ball would have helped to relieve the pressure.

Lathaniel Rowe-Turner: 5.5 – Combative showing from the left-back who was there to defend first and foremost.

Janos Kovacs: 6 – Defended solidly in the air and on the deck and desperately unlucky to see his thumping header stopped on the line.

Alex Lawless: 5.5 – Competitive shift from the Welshman but unable to supply enough ammo to the front two.

Scott Rendell: 5.5 – Largely bettered in the air but stuck to his task and got in several key touches.

Jake Howells: 6.5 – Stifled by tough-tackling Stags, but when he did break their shackles he looked to play the killer balls, creating Gray’s second but should have had one himself.

Simon Ainge: 6 – Centre-half stood up well to Stags’ aerial bombardment and was the unlucky Hatter singled out for persistent fouling

Arnaud Mendy: 6 – Conceded possession in dangerous areas more than once, but brings a real physical element to the centre of the park.

Jonathan Smith: 5.5 – Quiet as a mouse for the opening hour, but saw a bit more of the ball late on as Mansfield looked to bypass the midfield.

Ronnie Henry: 6.5 – No dramas from the skipper who was solid as a rock at right-back.

Andre Gray: 8 – Energetic and quick, Gray has all the attributes, created chances, netted two good goals and could have had more.

Stuart Fleetwood (sub): 5 – On the pitch for less than a minute.
