Hatters rated v Cambridge

Mark Tyler: 7 – Nothing he could do about the first goal and was always on hand to sweep up any danger.

Lathaniel Rowe-Turner: 7.5 – Showing his versatility by returning to left back. Overlapped to good effect, particularly in the first half, while displaying his bravery late on too.

Greg Taylor: 7 – Lost his man for the second goal, but looked far more comfortable in his unfavoured position of right back.

Dean Beckwith: 8 – Defender is having his best spell since signing for Town and capped another assured performance with a winner any striker would have been proud of.

Janos Kovacs: 8 – Got Luton back on terms with a thumping header and marshalled the defence well with his imposing presence.

Alex Lawless: 7.5 – Always a threat on the right flank and starting to gain a good understanding with Gray.

Scott Rendell: 7 – Worked hard upfront and did a lot of work that goes unnoticed. Came within inches of his third goal in three games too.

Jake Howells: 8.5 – Another influential display from the midfielder who is starting to take games by the scruff of their neck now.

Stuart Fleetwood: 7.5 – Looked busy and dangerous in the first half, with all of Town’s attacks coming through him. Faded slightly, but his set-piece delivery is now a mighty weapon for Town, setting up two goals.

JJ O’Donnell: 8.5 – Came into his own second half with some lovely passing, including a beautiful through ball for Gray’s goal. Growing up quickly.

Andre Gray: 8.5 – Standout performer on the evening. Buzz of anticipation whenever he gets near the ball and a lovely finish for his strike.

Connor Essam (sub): 5.5 – Almost had a horror moment when he slipped but thankfully Tyler saved the day.

Jake Woolley (sub): 6 – Gained some more experience with a late run-out.
