Hatters rated v Alfreton Town

Mark Tyler: 6 – Didn’t have a save to make as he was given the most comfortable of returns to league action.

Dan Gleeson: 5.5 – Exposed once or twice by Alfreton’s lively winger, but does give the defence good balance.

Greg Taylor: 7 – Frustrated early on, but grew into the game and is one of Luton’s biggest pluses this season.

George Pilkington: 8 – No nonsense penalty and another assured display at the back.

Alex Lawless: 6 – Frustrating afternoon where his passing radar seemed to be off.

Craig McAllister: 6.5 – Held the ball up well, battled well but his finishing let him down.

Danny Crow: 5.5 – A few nice touches but struggled to make much of an impression.

Robbie Willmott: 6 – Did well to win the penalty but has so much more to offer.

Jake Howells 7 – One of Town’s most consistent performers and looked the most likely to unlock Alfreton.

Adam Watkins 5.5 – Couldn’t seem to get into the game and failed to make the most of his undoubted talent.

Janos Kovacs 8, pictured, – Didn’t put a foot wrong and won almost everything in the air.

Stuart Fleetwood (sub): 6 – Sharp and pacy but could have been more direct.

Godfrey Poku (sub): 5.5 – Look lean and keen but picked up a silly booking.

Aaron O’Connor (sub): 5.5 – Bravely battled through the pain barrier, but was obviously inhibited.
