Hatters rated v Alfreton

Mark Tyler: 6.5 – Made a cracking save at 2-0, but rare blunder summed up Town’s day.

Greg Taylor: 5.5 – Caught out of position in the opening minutes as Alfreton went ahead and was substituted at half time.

Dean Beckwith: 6 – Got in a muddle for the penalty but always looks calm under pressure.

Janos Kovacs: 6 – Strapping centre half suffered at the hands of the physical Reds’ forwards and was hauled off at the break.

Alex Lawless: 6 – No-one was at the races in the first half, but looked to get on the ball in the second period.

Jake Howells: 6 – Could get nowhere near the sort of dominant displays from recent games as Town’s midfield was overrun.

Adam Watkins: 5.5 – Worst possible birthday present as he couldn’t get into the game at all and was withdrawn at half time.

JJ O’Donnell: 5.5 – Harried and hassled the Alfreton midfielders, but never once came close to getting on top of his opponents.

Jake Robinson: 6 – Baptism of fire as he was thrown in against the powerful Reds back-line. Threatened occasionally and will hope this isn’t the norm.

Ronnie Henry: 6 – Unhappy return to the side for the skipper as Town were easily disposed of.

Andre Gray: 5.5 – Radar was well and truly off as he spurned a number of presentable chances.

Stuart Fleetwood, pictured, (sub): 6.5 – Shame he was only fit enough for the bench as looked dangerous.

Yaser Kasim (sub): 6.5 – Eager to get on the ball and find his Town team-mates.

Connor Essam (sub): 5.5 – Another who struggled against the aerial bombardment.
