Jonathan Smith: 6.5 - Covered loads of ground, won numerous tackles but just needed a little more guile when in possession.

Steve McNulty: 7 - Almost faultless at the back and has been the rock on which Town’s fine form defensively has been founded.

Jake Howells: 7 - Star performer in the first half, but faded in the second as Grimsby proved difficult to break down.

Scott Griffiths: 7 - Compact full-back read the game superbly, marshalled his winger well and provided some accurate balls forward.

Andy Parry: 7 - Seamlessly switched from central midfield to centre-half as Town kept a fifth clean sheet of the season.

Luke Guttridge: 6.5 - Busy midfielder careered around without ever being able to find the killer pass.

Ronnie Henry: 7 - Skipper was comfortable throughout and pushed forward well as he got plenty of crosses into the box.

Paul Benson: 7 - Target man twice went close for the Hatters as he had the best chances on the night.

Andre Gray: 6.5 - Struggled to make an impression on the Grimsby defence as he put in another dedicated shift.

Alex Lacey: 6.5 - Another great performance until injury forced him off as Luton lost their grip on the game.

Jim Stevenson (sub): 6 - Applied himself well in the middle and competed manfully.

Shaun Whalley (sub): 6 - Mercurial winger showed plenty of effort, without ever really reaching the highs of what he is capable.

Alex Wall (sub): 6.5 - Powerful striker made a real nuisance of himself during his brief cameo and almost forced a winner.
