Having been a professional for 10 years now, Shaw is more than used to a summer of change as he said: “It’s happened to me before and if you start dwelling on it you find your career gets cut short a little faster.”

It was the same for recent signing Solomon Taiwo as he said: “It’s got nothing to do with us, that’s the managers decision.

“If you think about people going out that’s silly of you.”

Striker Andre Gray said: “As professional footballers you have to deal with players leaving or you’re never going to get anywhere.”

Meanwhile, Matt Robinson added: “It’s part of the game and it’s the first time I’ll have experienced it, so it’s a learning curve.”
