Jibodu made his first team debut against Skelmersdale United in the FA Trophy, while Longden has been an unused sub in a number of cup ties this season.

Head of youth Wayne Turner told the club’s official website: “They are both local lads, and if there’s one thing I know which get your fans going it’s a homegrown boy – here we have two.”

Town have announced that four of the U18s have been let go though with Jordan Davis, Jerry Nash, Nick Burtenshaw and Josh Carpenter being released.

Nash played twice for the first team last season, and Turner continued: “I’m not just saying this but all have been a real credit to their families. They have worked really hard but just haven’t played consistently well enough at the level that’s been required.”
