Hatters not worried by Jolley decision

Missing out on wide man Christian Jolley was the right thing for Luton, as they are searching for people who would ‘die’ for the club, writes Mark Wood.

Town last week pulled out of the race for the 24-year-old forward as he had failed to show the desire to jump at the chance to join the club. And high-flying Newport County have beaten off promotion rivals Forest Green Rovers to sign him for around £30,000 from AFC Wimbledon on a two-year-deal.

Managing director Gary Sweet said: “He took a few days to decide whether he wanted to join Luton or not, we just decided it was too long.

“We need players who are more than eager to sign for Luton Town Football Club. That’s no disrespect to Christian, he’s a bright lad and he wanted to consider all of his options.”
