Hatters not ruling out a move for Spillane

Hatters number two Terry Harris didn’t completely rule out the prospect of Town trying to sign former defender Michael Spillane.

The 24-year-old was released by Town’s main title challengers Cambridge United this week, after they pipped Luton to his signature back in August.

Spillane played a starring role for Town’s management team when they were at Dagenham & Redbridge and also was part of Hatters’ Johnstone’s Paint Trophy winning side.

When asked if they were still interested, Harris said: “We know Mickey very well. He came to Dagenham and the year that we stayed up, he was instrumental, a big part of that.

“As it stands at the moment, we’re comfortable with what we have, but you just never say never.”

The transfer window passed quietly at Kenilworth Road on Friday after Town had done their business, snapping up Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu and Jernade Meade.

On any potential last-minute deals in or out, Harris admitted there had been nothing that had caught Town’s eye.
