Hatters looking for fees for transfer-listed stars
Luton will be looking to recoup money for a number of their players as they placed four more on the transfer list last week, writes Mark Wood.
Scott Rendell, Simon Ainge, Lathaniel Rowe-Turner and Dean Brill were all told they could leave, while Luton had already made midfielder Arnaud Mendy available after a breach of club discipline.
Town paid out good money to secure the service of Mendy and Ainge as managing director Gary Sweet admitted they were looking for fees.
He said: “In some cases yes. Just in the same way that we might have a player for example who is young and has been developed and it might be the right time for him to step up, we wouldn’t necessarily stand in his way.”
Sweet believes the players have taken the news well though, saying: “Even those that are leaving Luton have shaken hands with us with a smile.
