Hatters impress at Swiss Masters

LUTON Town U11s competed in the Swiss Masters in Aarau at the weekend looking to improve on last year’s fifth-place finish, but eventually had to settle for 11th spot.

The tour started on Thursday with a visit to the FIFA headquarters in Zurich where the team had a behind the scenes tour and met FIFA chairman Sepp Blatter.

Town eventually finished 11th out of the 30 teams starting the event and head of youth Gregg Broughton said: “We were disappointed with our overall performance as we fell short technically and tactically of the levels needed to compete at the highest level.”
