Hatters hoping for a clean bill of health

TOWN have no fresh injury worries ahead of their play-off final against York City at Wembley on Sunday, writes Mike Simmonds.

Midfielder James Dance is the club’s only long-term injury worry, while Godfrey Poku could well be fit after missing both play-off games against Wrexham.

Town boss Paul Buckle said: “Simon (Parsell), the physio is fantastic.

I’ve given all the players every chance to be fit.

“I called a deadline for this week as to whether they can give me the green light or the red light.

“I’m just hopeful they can all be fit as they all deserve a chance to be selected.”

Although Town’s players are desperate to take to the hallowed Wembley turn, none of them have been easing off in training according to the boss.

He added: “I’m aware not to get the arousal levels too high too early, but the way they’re training, they’re smashing into each other.

“Whether, they’re trying to eliminate each other so they get the best chance of starting, I don’t know.

“Certainly, they haven’t come off it in training and the boys are all giving themselves every chance to be selected.”
