Hatters given a Hand

BATTLING Luton Town midfielder Jamie Hand has extended his loan spell at the Hatters by another month.

The 27-year-old midfield ball winner has impressed since signing on loan from Hayes & Yeading United in September and manager Gary Brabin has already stated his desire to sign him permanently when the transfer window reopens.

He said: “Jamie’s a natural leader, a good footballer and a great character in and around the squad and I think he’s got fitter with the full-time training schedule here.

“I believe Jamie will get better and better the longer he’s with us, and I have no doubt that he will be part of the side that gets us promoted - I’d love to be able to extend his contract full-time in January.”

Hand has scored twice in 11 games for Luton, both coming in the 5-1 win over Gateshead last month, and will be available for selection up until December 14 when his maximum 93-day loan period will have expired.
