Hatters to fly out to Portugal

A pre-season trip to Portugal will prove the ideal way for Town’s newcomers to get to know their team-mates according to boss John Still, writes Mark Wood.

Town fly out for the Iberian peninsular tomorrow and Still said: “It’s a dual-edged sword. It’s good for the new lads to get to know each other.

“We are training and it’s hammering down with rain. A bit of warm weather training there is good.”

Assistant boss Terry Harris is keen to get the squad as fit as possible too, adding: “Fitness is obviously important. John’s teams have always been fit and organised and over the next two-to-three weeks that’s what we’ll be working on.

“It’s tried and trusted – and hopefully it will be a winning formula.”
