Hatters fell five points behind new Blue Square Bet Premier leaders Newport County this afternoon, writes Mike Simmonds.

The Welsh side had trailed mid-table Southport in their home clash before former Town attacker Aaron O’Connor equalised on 76 minutes with his eighth goal of the season and Ben Swallow netted a dramatc last-gasp winner.

Forest Green are up to second after an impressive 2-1 win at fourth placed Macclesfield Town. Matty Taylor put the visitors ahead, while the Silkmen were then reduced to 10 men when Hatters loanee John Paul Kissock was dismissed.
