Hatters duo out for York revenge

REVENGE is in the air for Town’s players as they look to book a place at Wembley in this year’s FA Trophy final, writes Mark Wood.

Fresh from his exploits with Wales U21s, Jake Howells is hoping to put one over old rivals York City who ended Town’s hopes of promotion two seasons ago by beating them in the play-off semi-finals.

Howells said: “It’s about time we actually did them over for once.

“I think everyone’s actually quite happy we got them. We went up there at the start of the season and we didn’t play well and got battered to be honest with you.

“Now we’ve got another chance to go up there and I think everyone is ready to go.”

Fellow international starlet Adam Watkins is also looking forward to the tie after discussing the draw with a couple of York players while away on England C duty.

In bullish mood about the encounter, he said: “There’s a couple of lads from York and they said about the Trophy draw.

“It’s going to be a tough game over the two legs, but I fancy us massively, so hopefully we can get to the final.”
